SEAM’s 3DWIT Centre making 3D printed face shields

The team at SEAM’s 3DWIT Centre have lent their expertise to the national fight against the Covid-19 outbreak by printing much required face shields for frontline workers.

They handed their first batch of 3D printed face shields to National Ambulance Service in Dublin yesterday evening and more shields are being printed and will be delivered later this week.

3DWIT offers Additive Manufacturing training programs suitable for all industry audiences, from absolute beginners all the way to experienced engineers, designers, production technicians and business professionals.

SEAM is a key component of Ireland South East’s engineering cluster. It is an industry focussed applied research centre, providing innovative materials engineering solutions for companies from a wide range of sectors, including bio-medical devices, pharmaceuticals, micro-electronics, precision engineering and industrial technologies.
