Keltech Engineering and the SEAM (South East Applied Materials) research centre in WIT have been nominated for an Industry Engagement Impact Award by KTI (Knowledge Transfer Ireland). The nomination was based on work they carried out together to find a better solution to producing fuel hydraulic tanks for a German Original Equipment Manufacturer. SEAM’s expertise in CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) enabled them to produce a simplified design that delighted the German manufacturer.

The Industry Engagement Impact Award recognises and celebrates knowledge transfer success when Irish publicly-funded research performing organisation (RPOs) and companies work together. The collaboration between Keltech and SEAM is one of many examples of industry and research working together in the South East to produce better results for end customers. KTI’s mission is to support business and the research base to maximise innovation from State funded research by getting technology, ideas and expertise into the hands of business, swiftly and easily for the benefit of the public and the economy.
