Ireland South East Innovative Companies Series: Modubuild

Every week the Ireland South East Development Office will profile one of our most innovative companies. This week it’s Kilkenny based Modubuild.



Who are they?
Modubuild are a fast growing multi award winning High Tech Engineering, Manufacturing
& Construction company. They are headquartered in Kilkenny City, have an off site
manufacturing facility in Castlecomer, Ireland and a network of regional offices and active
projects across Ireland, UK and Mainland Europe.


What do they do?
Modubuild specialise in rapid delivery of both Modular on-site and off site construction
solutions on some of Europe’s largest and most complex high-tech projects primarily in
the biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical & Data Centre sectors. They provide Turnkey
Design and Build projects, Off site construction and manufacturing and on site
construction and project management on some of Europe’s largest High Tech
construction projects.


What makes them innovative?
Modubuild is uniquely positioned as a business that can offer Design & Engineering
services on complex high tech projects, they have a dedicated R&D department, they
can manufacture and pre-assemble entire facilities inside their production facility and
they have very significant international reach having successfully delivered projects in 11
countries to date. Modubuild invest heavily in their People, Technology, Production
Capacity and international presence in order to consistently increase capacity and
technical capability.


Kevin Brennan, Managing Director of Modubuild states:

“We are the only company in Europe with an off-site facility that can
produce these high-tech buildings and it allows us greater control of
quality, greater efficiency and enables us to export a higher value
product, meaning we can do more of the value-add within Ireland
before we ship out the buildings.”

Modubuild have also had to be very innovative during Covid-19, finding ways to ensure
customers could view the progress of their projects remotely.

Kevin explains:

“Even prior to the pandemic we had a 16 seater cinema that we used
and now we utilize a mix of virtual and augmented reality and 3D
cameras so that customers still get the same experience for the
construction of their project”.
