The ranking lists were calculated by counting the number of 5* hotels, Michelin-star restaurants, and the number of designer stores (of the top 10 most luxury brands – Cartier, Rolex, Tiffany & Co, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Burberry, Valentino, Versace and Hermes) in each city. Those with the highest total number across all three categories are ranked the most luxurious city in the world.
To work out which city offers the most luxury per km², the size of each city was researched and divided by the number of luxury venues available. The research was carried out by money.co.uk.
Kilkenny City has a lot to offer and was recently granted a World Crafts Council Craft City and Region.
