Wind Turbine Technician training and work placement programme in Wexford

Green Tech Skillnet is running a Wind Turbine Technician training and work placement programme over the course of 3 weeks in Wexford, commencing on the 16th of May 2022. The programme is fully funded by Skillnet Ireland therefore it is free of charge for participants. The course provides full GWO certified safety and technical training. After completing the training, delegates will participate in a work placement.

The ideal candidates will have an electrical, mechanical, or engineering background. Candidates must be unafraid of heights and confined space. Physical stamina and strength are also important, as service technicians must be able to climb high and often with tools and heavy equipment.

GWO Basic Safety Training (BST)
Week 2:
GWO Basic Technical Training (BTT)
Week 3:
GWO Advanced Rescue, Hub, Spinner and Inside Blade Rescue (ART-H)
Wind Turbine Safety Rules (WTSR)
Week 4:
CV and Interview Skills
Resilience and Effective Communication in the Workplace
Workshop with technicians in the industry and industry experts
Week 5 onwards
Work Placement
