South East Ports can lead the way for new offshore activity according to new report

A new National Ports Study has identified the significant role the two South East ports can play in supporting Ireland’s offshore wind opportunity.  The report by Wind Energy Ireland and Gavin & Doherty Geosolutions has identified that Rosslare Europort’s €200m plans to enhance the port’s lengths, load capacity and storage area “make it an attractive prospect to host east coast site staging and marshalling.”

It also highlights the role the Port of Waterford can play in supporting the proposed development at Rosslare, saying “collaboration of this nature should also serve to promote further regional supply chain development”.

This comes off the back of the Rosslare’s €200m planned investment for a dedicated Offshore Wind Hub
