Waterford’s Copper Coast named in Lonely Planet list of top 100 ‘Offbeat’ places to visit

Waterford’s Copper Coast has been named in Lonely Planet list of top 100 ‘Offbeat’ places to visit in their new publication.

The Lonely Planet travel publication has released a new guidebook called Offbeat, which features the travel publisher’s top 100 alternatives “to the world’s busiest places”. The Copper Coast is the only destination in Ireland that’s part of the list.

The Copper Coast stretches from Kilfarassy in East Waterford all the way to Stradbally in the west of the county, encompassing 25 kilometres of rugged coastline.

Offbeat locations are firmly on trend with tourists these days, as more tourists go in search of hidden gems away from the large towns and cities.

Suggested as an alternative route to the Wild Atlantic Way, the Copper Coast features sites such as Trá na mBó and Ballydowane and is close to the hugely popular Waterford Greenway.
