Port owners, Irish Rail, are seeking expressions of interest for the design and construction of an Offshore Renewable Energy Hub at Rosslare Europort

Irish Rail are seeking expressions of interest for the design and construction of an Offshore Renewable Energy Hub at Rosslare Europort with construction expected to commence towards the end of 2025.

Rosslare Europort is proposing the construction of port facilities which will be capable of facilitating fixed-bottom wind farm projects in the Irish and Celtic Seas. Additionally, the proposed development will provide an operation and maintenance base.

Some of the key features of the proposed development are as follows:

• Approximately 20 hectares of land reclamation from the sea at the westerly side of the existing Rosslare Europort;

• Heavy lift berth (250m-330m in length) for accommodating ORE installation vessels;

• Second berth (~240m long) for the delivery of foundation and wind turbine components;

• Capital dredging works to the main berth pockets and approach channel;

• Small boat harbour for local fishing vessels, Crew Transfer Vessels (CTV’s) and associated quayside facilities.
