South East GreenTech Meetup will discuss the regional opportunity for Offshore Wind

The next South East GreenTech Meetup will take place on Wednesday, 24th of April with doors open at 6.45pm. Dr. David Dempsey, Retired Country Leader at Salesforce Ireland is the leader of the new South East Offshore Wind Partnership and will discuss the economic opportunity presented by offshore wind at the MeetUp.

The Ireland South East Offshore Wind Partnership brings together key stakeholders from the region’s economic ecosystem to ensure that offshore wind is at the heart of our future economic development. It enables meaningful engagement between the ports, the airport, local authorities, industry and enterprise agencies alongside the Higher Education and Training Institutes and Skills Forum. Collaboration will be key to supporting the development of new companies, creating the next generation of skilled employees and delivering on the region’s ambition to play a major role in Ireland’s offshore renewable energy sector.

There are three chats taking place at MeetUp this Wednesday:

Chatter 1: Southeast Offshore Wind Partnership by Dr. Dave Dempsey
Dr. David Dempsey, Retired Country Leader at Salesforce Ireland, overseeing 2,000+ employees. He co-founded Salesforce Europe in 2000, expanding it across EMEA. With an MBA and DBA, he is on the board of SETU and is the leader of the new South East Taskforce on offshore wind.

Chatter 2: Promoting Wexford from Paula Roche
Paula is CEO of the county Wexford chambers and is promoting sustainability in business and the wider community. Paula is an accomplished, creative, and purpose-driven business leader with extensive experience in customer-centric leadership. Possessing a strategic and vision-orientated approach, dedicated to driving business growth and enhancing customer experiences through refined business strategies, innovative product design, and impactful marketing campaigns.

Chatter 3: The Solar Street Bin from Tommy Griffith

Tommy Griffith leads PEL Waste Reduction Equipment, aiming for global leadership in waste reduction for the hospitality and commercial sectors. Tommy has created the world’s best green bin. Tommy is from Mayo and his business is based in Ireland with a London office, PEL has won accolades for innovative products like the Baby Jaws bottle crusher and the Solar Commercial Bin Compactor. Their latest innovation is the Solar Street Bin with BriteBin software. PEL was a finalist in the Irish Times Innovation Awards 2019.
