Clem Jacob Hire nominated for Global Sustainability Award at World IPAF Summit
Clem Jacob Hire, a family-run equipment hire company based in Waterford, has been nominated for a prestigious Sustainability Award at the upcoming World IPAF Summit, taking place in Turkey this April.
The Global Sustainability Award at the World IPAF Summit is one of the most prestigious international recognitions in the powered access industry, celebrating companies that are delivering real, measurable progress in environmental sustainability.
The nomination places Clem Jacob Hire among only four companies worldwide selected for recognition in sustainability, an achievement that highlights years of investment, planning, and commitment to reducing environmental impact across the business.
Four years ago, the company began using HVO fuel across all diesel-powered equipment and vans as part of its transition towards more sustainable operations. Over the last number of years, this approach has been further strengthened through a move away from standard diesel machines, with continued investment in electric and battery-powered equipment. All company cars have now been transitioned to electric, reflecting a broader commitment to reducing emissions across the fleet. In addition, a significant investment has been made in battery storage units for the hire fleet, supporting cleaner and more efficient energy use. This transition is further demonstrated by the company’s main training centre, which is now powered 100% by solar energy, highlighting a consistent focus on sustainability across its operations.

After all the years of working on our sustainability plan and putting massive effort into cutting our carbon footprint, we can now begin to see the positive results of all this hard work and investment. Our small family run company, from Waterford, will come head to head against three multi billion dollar manufacturing companies from France, China and the United Arab Emirates. For us to be in this position is pretty amazing and I would really like to thank everyone in the company that worked so hard to get us to this position.
