High Performance Building Alliance and Construction Cluster Ireland join forces

August 6, 2024/in Engineering, Events, Infrastructure, News

The High Performance Building Alliance (HPBA) and Construction Cluster Ireland (CCI) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on various cluster activities aimed at enhancing innovation and sustainability within the construction sector.

This strategic partnership is set to leverage the strengths of both organisations to foster a more competitive and sustainable construction industry in Ireland.

Under the terms of the MoU, HPBA will take the lead on sustainability-themed initiatives, focusing on high-performance building practices that align with global standards for environmental responsibility. Meanwhile, CCI will spearhead broader construction initiatives, promoting industry collaboration and skills development across the sector.

Both organisations have committed to working together on a range of activities, including joint events, innovation challenges, and funding bids. This collaborative approach is designed to encourage knowledge sharing and resource pooling, ultimately benefiting their respective members and the wider construction community.

Mandi Stewart, CEO of HPBA, said:

“The signing of this MoU marks a significant step forward in our efforts to drive innovation and sustainability in the construction sector. By combining our expertise and resources, we can create a more impactful platform for our members and contribute to a greener built environment.”

CCI’s Dr. Oluwasegun Seriki echoed these sentiments, stating,

“This partnership will not only enhance our collective capabilities but also position us to better address the challenges and opportunities facing the construction industry today. Together, we can foster a culture of innovation that benefits both our members and the communities they serve.”

The MoU is expected to facilitate greater engagement among SMEs in both clusters, providing them with enhanced opportunities to participate in international markets and access funding for innovative projects. By aligning their efforts, HPBA and CCI aim to create a robust ecosystem that supports sustainable practices and drives the future of construction in Ireland.

This collaboration signifies a commitment to advancing the construction industry through innovative solutions and sustainable practices, setting a precedent for future partnerships aimed at addressing the pressing challenges of climate change and resource efficiency.
