SETU Xcelerate Centre in Kilkenny Opens Doors to Ambitious Start-ups and Growing Businesses

July 6, 2026/in Agri Sector, Creative, Engineering, Financial Services, ICT, Infrastructure, News, Remote working

University-backed innovation hub offers affordable office space, expert support and access to a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Entrepreneurs, start-ups and growing businesses looking for an affordable base in the heart of Kilkenny are being invited to join the SETU Xcelerate Centre, where a limited number of office spaces are now available.

Located at Burrell’s Hall in Kilkenny City, the SETU Xcelerate Centre provides more than just office accommodation. As part of South East Technological University (SETU), the centre offers businesses access to university expertise, research capabilities, graduate talent and a wide network of enterprise supports designed to help companies innovate, grow and create regional impact.

The Xcelerate Centre is one of a network of incubation centres operated by SETU across Waterford, Carlow and Kilkenny, supporting entrepreneurs at every stage of their business journey.

Businesses can choose from a range of office options to suit their needs, including:

  • 1–2 person private offices (10 sq. m.), ideal for founders, consultants and early-stage businesses.
  • 4-person offices (20 sq. m.), providing dedicated workspace for growing teams looking to scale without the overheads of traditional commercial premises.

Tenants benefit from a comprehensive package of supports and facilities, including:

  • High-speed broadband
  • Meeting and boardroom access
  • Shared staff canteen facilities
  • Access to SETU researchers and graduate talent
  • Enterprise support networks
  • A collaborative community of entrepreneurs and innovators.

The Kilkenny centre is closely connected to the wider enterprise ecosystem, with strong links to Enterprise Ireland, the Local Enterprise Offices and SETU’s research and innovation expertise, providing businesses with opportunities to collaborate, innovate and accelerate their growth.

Karl Haslam, manager of SETU Xcelerate said:

“The SETU Xcelerate Centre offers businesses far more than office space. It provides an environment where entrepreneurs can connect with experienced mentors, researchers, fellow innovators and enterprise agencies, giving them the support they need to build successful, sustainable businesses. We are delighted to welcome new companies to our Kilkenny innovation community.”

With demand for flexible, affordable workspace continuing to grow, interested businesses are encouraged to enquire early while office space remains available.
