Wexford based Holos Skincare expands into US market
Holos Skincare has been listed by Verishop, a Los Angeles-based online retailer of luxury fashion, beauty, and homeware products, expanding its global market significantly.
Holos Skincare, a plant-based skincare brand, is well-known throughout Ireland, and its inclusion on Verishop opens the door to the highly profitable US market.
Niamh Hogon of Holos Skincare said the upmarket ecommerce site has a curated collection of recognised and respected brands, with an approval process to verify retailer and product credentials.
“You have to be accepted into Verishop and your product is assessed to ensure a quality offering,” she said.
“There’s no chance of substandard or imitation merchandise. We are delighted Holos is taking its place among leading brands, sought-after by US shoppers, and already sales are brisk.”
The partnership with www.verishop.com involves US fulfillment centers, which means bulk dispatch from Ireland and quick local delivery in the United States.
Niamh’s plant-based aromatherapy skincare brand, based in Enniscorthy, already has local distribution in Austria and Hong Kong, but domestic online sales across Ireland and the UK account for the majority of Holos’ business.
Against the trend of other businesses, the Covid pandemic boosted Holos’ online business, with revenue increasing by 104% in 2020 and 67 percent of business now conducted online.
After only eight years in business, Holos has already established itself as one of Ireland’s most well-known skincare brands, backed by beauty and skincare experts.
The company was named Overall Champion at the prestigious European beauty awards for products that are ‘free from’ the allergens, preservatives, additives, and fragrances associated with skin sensitivity at the 10th annual Free-From Skincare Awards.
Get Better Butter from the Holos’ ‘This is More’ range won the top prize, beating over 300 other skincare product entries.
It also outperformed luxury and designer beauty brand offerings in the process.
