Innovative Companies in Ireland South East – Fettle
Fettle is a Wexford-based company that connects qualified therapists to people who are seeking professional counselling for issues such as anxiety, grief and trauma. Those who sign up for the service can schedule online sessions with therapists over video calls. Launched in April 2021, it already had 500 people booking sessions regularly through the platform by July. Fettle was founded by former Salesforce and Oracle executive Richard Stafford.
Fettle pride themselves on normalising therapy and giving everyone access to some of Ireland’s best therapists at the most affordable pricing options available.
Fettle was founded with the ideal that mental health is a universal need and that everyone struggles sometimes. Using technology and data science coupled with a human touch; Fettle enables seamless virtual delivery of mental health support.
Its network of therapists have delivered thousands of online therapy sessions.
Richard Stafford stated:
“I was at a turning point in my personal life and professional career having experienced poor mental health at times for a number of years. Launching a mental health platform during lockdown, while working from home, was extremely stressful and taxing on my wellbeing and resilience. However, Fettle is the perfect marriage between my personal and professional background and experience.
“Currently only 11pc of Irish people seek help through counselling, way below the 28pc average of the UK and the 49pc of the United States, Fettle aims to address this imbalance by taking a mobile, digital-first approach, while making therapy meaningful, accessible and stigma-free for all.”
